Joanne Kirkland is currently the Subject Leader at The Howard of Effingham School, Surrey. In addition to her role she is the school lead for STEAM Education. She has been teaching for over 20 years and is passionate about all students having access to an inspirational and knowledgeable teacher. She continues to mentor fellow professionals in many aspects of Computer Science and IT.

A passionate advocate for the balance of gender in Computer Science and STEM subjects. Recently she took part in the International Women in Science conference.
